Hon. Wanu Hafidh Ameir is a Lawyer by profession with a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the Open University of Tanzania. Hon Wanu is a public personality through both Governmental and Political Platforms in the United Republic of Tanzania as a whole and in Zanzibar in particular. 

She is a leader by example having taken leadership amongst Youths and Youth Development Programs in various capacities. Hon Wanu has also taken part in Public Sector Governance, Organizational Development, Public Policy Analysis, and Implementation as well as in Management Community Based Activities. Currently, Hon Wanu is the Foundation Chair of the Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation, a registered Non-Government organization that works to develop and create a national framework for dialogue, networking, information, and skills exchange regarding women, youth, and children’s welfare in health, education, and social economic dimensions. The Foundation strives to translate global strategies on these sub-populations into strategic actions. 

She is also the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation which oversees all matters related to the Foundation including financial management and control, program planning, development and implementation, human resource management, networking and partner engagement, resource mobilization and representing the Foundation in Public Speaking and communication. Hon Wanu Hafidh Ameir is also a Member of the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania, a position she has held for the past 8 years. She is also a Member of the House of Representatives of Parliament of Zanzibar a position which she has held for the past five years.
