The Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation works to uplift communities in Zanzibar, in particular, and Tanzania as a whole by promoting quality, availability, and access to education, health, and attaining economic development aiming to eliminate poverty, ignorance, and diseases through leadership, networking, and collective efforts. Our scope of work is holistic, defining life in its real gist hence calling for multi-disciplinary expertise.

We offer careers across a wide range of expertise such as health professionals (medical doctors, paramedical staff, nurses, mental health experts, and specialists); research experts (researchers on systems and operational researchers, statisticians,  monitoring and evaluation experts, and technical writers); Social welfare and community development works (counselors, educators, etc.); education experts (teachers, trainers, lecturers, curriculum development experts, etc.); economic development and women empowerment (economists, gender experts, etc.); managerial and administrative support staff (human resource, information technology, and communication, finance, and accounting, legal, insurance and quality assurance). In general, whatever your profession or career level is (including volunteers), you have a place to work with us and contribute to making a difference in our course of work.

Each role will have its requirements, but generally speaking, we look for candidates who have a high level of technical capability and can work collaboratively with others at MIF. Internships: MIF offers internships (usually for some time of 3 to 6 months) in different professions or fields of study. We also provide a home for PhD students who would like to conduct their research falling within the scope of our work.
